Coaching

The Guernsey Squash Racket Association (GSRA) employs two full time coaches and supports several other coaches through its wide and varied programme.

All the coaches working under the GSRA banner should have their coaching certificates first aid, child protection and police checked. (If you have any doubts please ask for proof)

Peter Bridgeman
Director of Guernsey Squash

The coaches coach at both clubs on the island Kings & Beau Sejour and the cost of a lesson depend on the venue, time of day, the level of qualification and experience of the coach but are usually between £20-£30.

Peter Bridgeman is the Director of Guernsey Squash and is a level IV coach. He has been coaching for nearly 18 years and has a vast experience at all levels from national to international. Originally from Wales Peter has been coaching in Guernsey for nearly 4 years and in that time has managed many teams and players on and off the island.

As a player I was ranked 11 in Wales and played several times for his County (South Glamorgan) and also played for Wales three times in the O’35 Home internationals.

In 2005 he managed a team in the Shetlands Island Games where we won a total of 6 medals (including 2 Golds) and in 2006 managed Chris Simpson in the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.

As the development officer Peter (with help from his staff as well as the squash members) organises all of the squash on the island for juniors & adults.

The squash programme runs all year round but for further information please see Calendar.
